Storm brings down Gorge suspension bridge!

Sunday, March 5th, 2023

A major storm in the Red River Gorge has caused a tree to fall on the suspension bridge on the Sheltowee Trace. This is a major trail disruption and will take sometime to rebuild. Section hikers should plan accordingly. Thruhikers should talk with Steve Barbour, the director of the STA for options around the downed bridge.

The Daniel Boone National Forest has developed a plan for the rebuilding of the bridge. When a timeline is announced we will post it here and on social media.
