Opportunity Alert: Keep the Sheltowee Trace Geared Up!

Our dedicated merchandise lead is stepping back to take on an exciting new professional leadership role, leaving behind a crucial gap in our day-to-day operations. We want to extend our sincere thanks for all the care, effort, and time poured into keeping our online store running and getting maps, guidebooks, and apparel into the hands of hikers across the region.

To keep our trail community stocked, the Sheltowee Trace Association is looking for an organized, friendly volunteer to take over order fulfillment and help manage our gear store!

What the Role Involves

This is a low-stress, highly impactful way to support the trail from home and at the post office during an exciting phase of growth for STA.

  • Order Fulfillment: Pack and mail out online orders 1–2 times per week.

  • Inventory Management: Keep a small, dedicated storage space (about closet-sized) neat and accounted for.

  • Simple Tracking: Log sales and stock levels using our easy online Squarespace system (full, step-by-step training provided!).

  • Modernization & Ideas: Help us manage current physical inventory while we explore modern, automated fulfillment solutions for the future. You’ll also get to assist with merch sales at our annual gathering in December and share creative ideas for new gear designs!

Who We're Looking For

  • Regular, reliable access to a local post office to mail packages (postage is fully reimbursed).

  • Basic comfort with computers and a willingness to learn our online portal.

  • A love for the Sheltowee Trace and a desire to support our hiker community as we work toward streamlining our systems for the long haul.

How to Apply

If you have a few spare hours a week and want a direct, tangible way to give back during this transitional season, we’d love to hear from you.
