Help Us Move the Trace off Wilson Ridge

A small number of volunteers are needed to turn the purple line on the map into the new Sheltowee Trace, eliminating the road walk on Wilson Ridge.

There are two days to work, September 16 and 18. Work will begin at 9 and end around 3 or earlier. A small crew of 4 to 8 volunteers is needed to help us create .7 mile new section of the Trace off Wilson Ridge in McCreary County. This work will move the trace off Wilson Ridge and cut over 2 miles of road walk on the Trace. Volunteers will be clearing brush, removing small trees and branches, assisting in digging and creating new trail where needed. Preregistration is required so we have the proper number of tools on hand. Volunteers:

must have a waiver on file with the STA for 2021 or sign one at the worksite.

should dress for the weather, long pants a must and hard shoes as in hiking boots or trail shoes with sturdy soles.

should pack a lunch, bring water or drink. There will be additional water on site.

meet at the small parking lot across from Nancy School historic site on Wilson Ridge at 9 am and be shuttled the .25 mile to the job site.

All trail tools will be furnished by the STA. Click this link HERE to register.
